KARACHI:
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Jameel Ahmad on Monday revealed that remittances reached an all-time high of $4.1 billion in Marcha development hailed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as a reflection of overseas Pakistanis trust in the government's policies.
The governor was addressing the gong ceremony held at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to celebrate Pakistan Financial Literacy Week 2025.
He said the record inflow partly reflected the result of the government and the SBP efforts to incentivise the channeling of inflows via formal channels, as well as smooth functioning of the domestic FX market.
He said that total remittances for FY25 are expected to be around $38 billion.
